About KATHLEEN MILLER :

Career background: During the first ten years proceeding my high school graduation, I was career Mom and wife; concentrating my efforts on raising my children and helping my husband with book keeping for our farming operation. The Bluebird Dinner Theatre in Morristown was my creative outlet, where I wrote and performed in many weekend revues and shows.
Once my youngest child started to school, I began working as an entertainer and entertainment director at the Boggstown Inn and Cabaret, where I met my current musical and business partner Robin Hopkins. After working at the Cabaret together for a year and half, we left there and created our own “ Hopkins and Miller Show ” that is still going strong today, performing for audiences across the US. (See attached promo) As professional performance artists we have released seven albums, “Just For You,” “ The Works”, “There’ll Be Some Changes Made,” “Somebody Loves Me,” “A Little Smilin’ Music,” “New Orleans Meets Tin Pan Alley” and most recently (May 2005) “Live at the Paramount.” Our company, ROBKA PRODUCTIONS, INC. produces several events every year, marketing matinee and evening dinner shows to bus tour groups, organizations and individuals.
As a music major, I played clarinet in the band, under the direction of Dorse Taber and was instructed in the choral department by Imogene Shofner. These two teachers taught me the importance of music theory studies...a must if one wants to be a respected musician. They also cultivated the talent that I was blessed with and allowed me the opportunity, time and time again, to perform. They fought to keep the Musical Arts Program alive and a priority for TCHS. Their passion taught me how important music would be not just for my own life, but for the lives of others. I have since experienced this first hand, in the heartfelt applause of concert audiences and I have seen evidence of this in the eyes of Alzheimers patients; people who may not know who they are or what day it is, but can sing along with me all of the words of a tune from their childhood. Music is a gift that should be shared. It touches everyone at every stage of life. I am grateful to those teachers who encouraged me learn, grow and share my talent.
